Requiem For a Dream

As the movie was finishing up its last excruciating scene, I just sat there blankly. Horrified, but my mind seemed to have forgot how to function by itself. I couldn’t think at all, the movie itself was not so dreadful, but the story itself gave me the creeps. All the graphical / artistic shots made me feel like I wanted to vomit. But, disregarding that part, this movie was more than excellent. I’m actually surprised how I ended up LOVING this intense movie. I was always one of the girls who were only interested into romance or action type movies. Never into serious and scary ones that made me think a lot. I really want to thank Mr.Joo for showing Requiem for a dream to us. I’m not sure why, but the whole movie seems perfect, and I really enjoy looking at the unique way how the director shot each scene. It not only has a good plot, but a exclusive originality. Every scene, every line, every move seems creative and somehow related to art. Even though if we disregard the whole artistic side, this movie should be considered to be shown to highschool and college studets. It illustrates all the qualities that drugs can effect us. If I legally become the age to properly watch this movie, then I would really want a chance to watch it again! I realized that out of all the fields of movies, you could make anything you desire out of it no matter the genre.

Urban Outfitters

Shopping spree is what I need right now ASAP! If I could just ride the airplane and flyback to NewYork, the first place I would probably run straight down to 999 3rd Ave, New York. This exclusive shop is starting to gradually become diverse throughout the world. It has varieties of clothing from different shops that gives a special twist to this unique multi-brand. This brand consists of diesel, true religion, lacoste, and Seven for All menkind. If you love funky styles like I do, you would definately become one of their fans the instance you walk in throught their doors. If you are not only a fan of clothes, but antique, vintage, bohemian style, you would also enjoy this exquisite shop. It not only has clothes, but all kind of household materials. I brought my pink fisheye camera in Urban Outfitters in Philly. There is possibly anything you could get! Sofas, pens, notebooks, candles, sunglasses, accessories, and etc. It’s an excellent oppurtunity to purchase items that are no longer present in different shops or online. If I did had the chance, I would want to release this kind of brand in the future where I could sell anything !

Goodbye Sophomore, Hello Junior ?

Yearbooks are finally released (YAY) and it’s finally the time that we all waited so desperately.  As it reached the mid summer of May, I can not wait until  it’s vacation time! We have exactly two weeks of school left, including the weekends. Time flies so fast that we’re already becoming juniors! I still can’t believe we’re finishing our fourth quarter and after two weeks later it’s finals! It just feels like yesterday when we had our middle school graduation social in the mini auditorium. We were really annoying but cute. Soon the 2009 graduation is going to start…but for the class of 2011, we still have two years left until we graduate. I always felt highschool was going to end forever, but unfortunately it’s not going to anymore. My freshman year passed so slowly that I did not recognize how little time we actually do have. Time suddenly passed by so fast! I cannot believe the seniors are already graduating! I still feel like a freshmean and I still think they are juniors to me just like last year. I’m so excited to soon be a senior and start going off to college, but on the other side, I’m scared that I would no longer be a teen, a highschooler. Everyone says that their best time of their life is when they were in highschool, and that we are going to miss it so badly once we go to universities. But ! We still do have two years left, so we should spend every moment with everyone :)

The Moon

Breath taking…

Now that we all know the story of our fantasy love story Twilight, it’s time to dip into the next saga: New Moon. I heard from many people how they were disappointed that Edward Cullen didn’t come out much in the second book, but I think it makes the readers much more eager to read; it’s an excellent idea of a cliffhanger. Although I WAS bereaved about that fact that Edward’s presence was nowhere until the last chapters, Stephen Meyer did a excellent job filling his place with Jacob Black. His existence did not interest me in Twilight, however, after reading about what he was capable to do, it completely changed my perspective towards him. When Edward left Bella unexpectadley after the little blood incident that happend in the Cullen’s coven, Bella was a totally reckless, a wrek. Stephen’s writing was so touching that I actually teared up a lot. Honestly I don’t encounter books unless they really appeal to catch my attention. I could say that I fell in love with her writing at first sight. I dread my self for keep dreaming about these imaginary characters. I know I would always have this tingley feeling left inside me, the desire to be IN the book, to live in fanstasy with these mystical creatures. Especially after all the books we read in class, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Grendel, Dracula, it helped me to go deeper into Eclipse, about the identity of these vampires possess. I can’t believe myself after reading one by one of her saga, how much I want to be a vampire myself. I want to spare an Edward for myself, for only me, a voice that would stay in my head forever. This is the first author that I really felt I wanted to meet in person. Sure, these book might not be highly worded, or used for a education wise, but it definatley triggered me into another POV. I don’t think people should be forced to read incomprehensible books that doesn’t mean a thing to them. We should enjoy what we read, feel like we are dripped into the world we always secretly longed to be in…ah Edward.

Facebook feeds: Good or Bad?

FACEBOOK

All the constant uploading and messaging in facebook, is it all that bad? This extravagent site is known for its best social network where you could easily find your old friends all over the world: America, England, France, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and more on. Socializing through a network is not bad at all, life its short, so why waste your time forcing yourself to be isolated? It helps you to be alarmed with the latest news feed of your friends. You should not stop contacting with your friends and stop from socializing. It’s not just facebook, there is myspace, blogging, cyword, there are all these varieties of websites that help you express you identity and keep your friends at pace. Thus, people should not bann facebook, but encourage people from using it. It is crucially addicting and  hard to stop, but it’s better than just sitting around your room, shutting yourself to the modern world. You can make groups and meet other people who have a similiar interest to what you have. The world is so big to cope, facebook is just there to shorten your range and make you meet diverse people from everywhere. It is also extremely safe. You are only capable of looking through profiles if your only invited into the network or the person. You can choose from you personal settings how much you want to be exposed to the public or not. Therefore, adults should stop considering facebook unhealthy to students. As well there might be many negatives things, it undeniably has more positive qualities. I am seriously addicted to facebook, and I will probably won’t stop until I graduate, but really, what self-respecting teen isn’t?

Roy lichtenstein

Roy Lichtenstein : of all times

Next to Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein is my second favorite pop artist of all times. His extravagant pieces shows the modern art and a fun twist into it. He is known to be the master of stereotype, and the most sophisticated pop artist right now. He was born in NYC, and had a quite unsuccessful childhood. Although his school never provided art classes, he managed to start drawing as a hobby. He quickly emerged into one of the best artists for modernist styles. I really enjoy looking at futurism pieces, it makes it feel realistic and very surreal.

He’s just not that into you

Girls! Do you believe your an exception from finding true love? Or that you go along with the rule? Based on the novel “He’s just not that into you”, by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, this movie is about women who are trying to vary their multi relationships with men. We, girls, are programmed to think that a guy likes us if he is being mean to us. But actually it’s not. If he does not have any interest, he genuinely means it. Boys and girls, constantly try to read the opposite sex’s mind or try to pick up their signs to find out wheter the person likes them or not. Everyone has this urgent need to figure out continuously what other people might think of them.

1) You are wondering and sitting in front of the phone waiting him to call you.

2) you are consistently checking your voicemail, email, myspace, facebook.

3) You always asume that he is interested in you.

4) You frequently count the days he did not call or text you

5) You try to eavesdrop on every sing conversation he has with everyone

This may not be exact, but it’s the idea. If you agree to few of the things mentioned above, try reconsidering your thoughts about him or her! If a men is interested in someone it’s doubtful that he’ll do anything  to get to that person (from a guy’s view). However, this movie is trying to teach us a lesson that not ALL love goes according to the rules. We are just common people who are hoping to be the excceptions from the no exception rule. We are just struggling to find true love.

Twilight

Try imagining your the victim to the most hansome vampire on earth… I would  faint just by his crooked smile! Everyone now knows about the best seller series of Stephanie Meyer. I’m on my second book, The Moon right now, and can’t wait till the next movie comes out… sigh. Her book is one of a kind where any teenage girl will love. It’s not too simple but not too serious at the same time. This movie is based on a teenage girl who starts to fall in love with Edward Cullen. She is swept away from the surrounding around her, but she never tries to force herself into the crowds. She was very different from a typical teenager, which made her more special to Edward! Although the movie did not portray the whole novel that much, it still captured Robert Pattinson’s (Edward Cullen) gorgeous face on screen! This was one of the movies that acutally lured me to read the whole saga series. Thanks to Twilight, I end up spending my money buying four books form twilight, but again, it’s really worth it. Once you start reading it, you’ll find yourself reading everything, it’s just impossible to let down the book.
